The “In the Beach” real estate team was born when Nick Boothby (Maddy and Greg’s real estate mentor) pioneered the resale of homes in Woodbine Park, which he marketed as the 'New Beach'. This newly developed area, between Lake Ontario and Queen Steet East (due south of Real Estate Homewards head office), has become one of Toronto's most desirable residential locations. It occupies land west of Woodbine Ave. once famous for its 1874 Woodbine Racetrack (later Greenwood), which operated until replaced in 1993 by the racetrack north of Toronto Airport. Today Woodbine Park boasts luxury family homes and condominiums that command many of the highest prices in the whole of the Toronto Beaches area. Its street names Joseph Duggan Rd., Sarah Ashbridge Ave., and Northern Dancer Blvd. recall two historic owners of the Racetrack land and Canada's most prized racehorse. And Lake Shore Blvd. East's 'Painted Lady' homes are as much a Toronto landmark as San Francisco's same-named fine Victorian homes.
This neighbourhood to the east side of Toronto is a summer haven that sees locals and tourists flock here for a day on the water. But there’s much more to the Beaches. A series of festivals, winter installations and year-round outdoor activities make this quarter a must-see.
The Beaches is home to many different types of properties for sale from Victorian detached homes, to semis, to new build homes to condos and lofts. There also is an extremely low crime rate and the neighbourhood is surrounded by many exceptional schools.
